Help covering the cost of therapy

Sessions may be covered through one of the programs below. Here's the short version — and we're glad to help you sort out funding on your intake call.

Provincial · Ontario
Assistance for Children with Severe Disabilities (ACSD)
What it is
A monthly payment from the Government of Ontario that helps low- and moderate-income families with the extra costs of raising a child with a severe disability — from $25 to $678 a month, toward things like medical travel, special clothing, and respite.
Who's eligible
Parents or guardians of a child under 18 with a severe disability, who lives at home in Ontario. The amount depends on your household income, family size, and your child's disability-related costs.
How to apply
Apply online through the province — you can save and finish later, and you have 90 days to submit. File one application per child.

Jordan's Principle
What it is
A commitment from the Government of Canada (Indigenous Services Canada) that First Nations children get the products, services, and supports they need, when they need them — including therapies like music and art therapy — with no out-of-pocket cost when approved.
Who's eligible
A child under 18 who is registered or eligible to be registered under the Indian Act, has a parent who is, is recognized by their nation, or is ordinarily resident on reserve.
How to apply
Submit a request with a letter of support linking your child's need to the service. The Jordan's Principle Call Centre is open 24/7 at 1-855-JP-CHILD (1-855-572-4453) and can walk you through it.
